Build a membership management model with Dashier

Design Members, Events, and Settings sources and connect them through API endpoints.

This guide shows one way to represent the records behind a membership site. It is a model sketch, not a pre-built membership product: Dashier provides data sources, generated admin screens, REST endpoints, access controls, import/export, and audit history; your application still owns member-facing registration flows, billing, email, and business rules.

Members source

Create a Members source with fields such as display name, email, join date, membership status, and an optional profile image. Use an enum for a short controlled status list, and decide which personal fields should be visible to each team role. Avoid storing payment card details or secrets in a general member record.

Events source

Create an Events source with title, start and end time, venue, and publication state. Decide how time zones will be represented and validated by the application. Admins can use the generated table and form to maintain event information; a public site should expose only the fields it needs.

Registrations source

Create a Registrations source with references to one Member and one Event, plus fields such as registration date and a registration state. A registration is an association record, so it can carry its own attributes. Your app must still enforce rules such as duplicate prevention, capacity, payments, waitlists, or cancellations.

Settings source

If non-secret settings need operator management, create a Settings source with one record per setting or per group. Define a narrow set of fields and protect write operations. Do not store credentials or encryption keys as ordinary editable values.

Connect the app

Use the generated endpoints for reads/writes that suit your API policy. Keep a private API key on a server and expose a server route to the member-facing web or mobile client. Use public read routes only for deliberately public event information. Import existing member lists with CSV preview and field mapping, then review the imported records and access grants.

Start with a test organization and synthetic records, verify permissions, and only then connect the real member experience. See integrating an existing app, CSV import, and file uploads.
